because my ass needs rest

yay!
i think i'm gonna make wednesdays my favourite days from now on.
why, you ask?

BECAUSE i'VE GOT NO FREAKING CLASSES ON WEDNESDAYS!!!!!!!
(ok fine.maybe not alllll wednesdays. but the occasional wednesdays. which is good enough for me :P)

sigh.
having slept at 4 am on tuesday and waking up at 7.30 just to make it in time for the 8 am ward rounds..........

wednesdays shall now be officially called my resting-ass-weds.

although i've still got to research for my pbl and type it out....but oh well...

lets talk a lil about uni, since i never really got down to talking about it.

this year in year 3, the batch has been divided into two seperate groups, that being surgical and medical.
i've been assigned to the surgical part of things.

in surgery itself, it's then divided into different rotations, ie general surgery, urology, and ortho.
i'm curently on the general surgery rotation.

so what happens on a normal day? now that we don't have lectures anymore??
wellll folks, unfortunately for me in year 3, academic objectives are now expected to be fulfilled via SDL.
what is SDL?

freaking SELF-DIRECTED-LEARNING!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
ok fine. it's not too bad...
but i'm just lacking the motivation (and hardworking-ness) to grace myself through.

every other day is filled with things like bed-side, where u present a patient's case one-on-one to a doctor and ......depending on who your doctor is, you may either be
a) bombarded with questions (which is what my tutors do)
b) made to look/feel stupid (which is also what my tutors do)
c) ignored (thank god i haven't gotten one like that, YET!)
d) scolded/screamed at (none of my tutors are the scolding type so far, but you never can tell, can you?)

i've seen and heard loadsa stories where practising-consultants become all high and mighty and snotty and start screaming and shouting and the housemens' around. aiyoyo
is this what is in store for me in the future?

other than bedsideS we have two problem-based-learning, where we are dutied to research and report and present and....gosh

clinical skills where we learn venepuncture, IV cannulations and bla bla bla

aiya...thinkng about my academic syllabus is alreading making me tired.

and in every rotation that you go through, you'll be designated a ward that will be your life and day.
but of course, you're given the option to roam the entire hospital and invade any other ward.

as we've been told a gazillion times
"this is your hospital. do what you like"

patients are gonna be my best friends from now on
